Tip Down

Our little
hands slide
the yellow shovels
through the dirt

We are making
a sand fort,
Will and I,
under the shade
of the trampoline,

digging our hole
deep and wide,
piling up the walls.
filling our shovels

On a summer afternoon
I take a walk
to our old sand pile,
dig into my past,
and remember
the yellow,
Will,
and the days
I could make worlds.
