2010 River of Words We are pleased to announce the winners and finalists of the 2010 River of Words Art and Poetry Contest! One Square Block Contest River of Words and The San Francisco Estuary Partnership teamed up again this year to offer a regional Environmental Poetry and Art contest for Bay Area youth. If you entered the River of Words International Contest, and live in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, Sacramento, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, Sonoma or Yolo county, you were automatically entered in our One Square Block contest, as well. Congratulations to this year's One Square Block winners! River of Words Videos Check out two new videos about River of Words! One video highlights the South Carolina River of Words program, and the other focuses on River of Words in Colorado. Youth Inspiring Youth See River of Words' Executive Director and co-founder, Pamela Michael, in a short video about the Youth Inspiring Youth project, a collaboration between River of Words and WomenSing. New Teaching Resource Teaching Poetry to Young People Milkweed Editions and River of Words have created a free, downloadable teaching guide to help teachers and students learn to write great poetry.
